Nine Casino baccarat sits in the Live Casino lobby under its own Baccarat tab, with Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live tables. On standard 8-deck rules the Banker bet carries a 1.06% house edge after the 5% commission, Player 1.24% and Tie 14.36% at 8:1 (4.84% where it pays 9:1). Deposits start at C$20, and live dealer bets count little or nothing toward bonus wagering.

Baccarat RTP, House Edge and Volatility

Baccarat is the table game with the smallest gap between you and the house, as long as you stay on the main bets. The numbers below are game maths, not casino promises, so here are the assumptions first.

We used the classic Punto Banco rules: eight 52-card decks, fixed third-card rules for both hands, 5% commission on a winning Banker bet, and a push on Player and Banker bets when the hand ties. Under those rules Banker wins 45.86% of hands, Player 44.62% and Tie 9.52%. Every figure in the table comes from those three probabilities.

Why does the Tie hurt so much at 8:1? It wins about once in 10.5 hands, so a fair payout would sit near 9.5 to 1. Paying 8 to 1 leaves the house more than 14 cents of every dollar, while the rarer 9 to 1 tables cut that to under 5 cents. The pair bets work the same way: two matching first cards come out about 7.5% of the time, and 11 to 1 is short of fair. No Commission tables drop the 5% fee but pay only half when Banker wins with a total of 6, which nudges the Banker edge up to about 1.46%.

What the edge means for your bankroll

Put C$10 on Banker for 100 hands and the expected cost is about C$10.60. The same C$10 on a Tie at 8:1 for 100 hands costs about C$144 on average. Live hands come every minute or so, which makes the choice of bet matter far more than the size of a single chip.

Volatility

Banker and Player are low-volatility bets: you win or lose close to your stake almost every hand, and ties simply return it. Tie and pair bets are high volatility, with long dry spells broken by one big payout. Multiplier variants such as XXXtreme Lightning Baccarat sit at the far end. Evolution adds a 50% fee to every XXXtreme bet, so a C$10 stake really costs C$15, and the extra cost comes back only through rare multiplied wins. Golden Wealth Baccarat takes a 20% Golden Card fee. In those games the main bets pay less than the classic odds above, so read the in-game paytable.

Playing Baccarat on Your Phone

There is no App Store download. Nine Casino runs in Safari or Chrome on iPhone and Android, and the live baccarat streams play inside the same browser tab.

The casino's own install guide shows how to pin the site to your home screen. On iOS you tap Share and then Add to Home Screen; on Android Chrome you open the three-dot menu and tap Install App. The icon opens the casino full screen like an app, with the same account, cashier and Live Casino lobby as on desktop.

What works well

  • Big buttons: studio interfaces are built for touch, with chip racks and bet spots sized for a thumb.
  • Same cashier: Interac e-Transfer and Apple Pay deposits from C$20 without leaving the phone.
  • Live chat: 24/7 support opens from the same screen if a round freezes.

Tips for live tables

  • Use Wi-Fi: an HD live stream uses far more data than a slot, so a long session on mobile data adds up.
  • Mind the timer: betting windows last only seconds, so place chips early on a weak signal.
  • Lower the quality: most live games let you drop video quality in settings to keep the stream smooth.

A live round is dealt at the studio whether or not your stream is connected, so a bet that was accepted before a signal drop is still settled. Reopen the game or check your bet history to see how it ended.

Who Supplies the Tables

The live lobby carries Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live baccarat tables, such as XXXtreme Lightning Baccarat, Golden Wealth Baccarat and Mega Baccarat. Both studios stream from purpose-built studios with professional dealers around the clock.

Evolution

The biggest live studio in the world and the widest range of baccarat: classic Speed and No Commission tables, the Lightning family, Golden Wealth, the Always series and the RNG First Person line. If you want variety, start here. Full game rules sit on the Evolution live baccarat page.

Pragmatic Play Live

Pragmatic's live arm builds fast, bright tables with a game-show touch, and Mega Baccarat is its best-known twist. The studio described the launch in its Mega Baccarat announcement.

Other studios turn up across the games catalogue too, and Playtech is among the provider names in the casino's interface. Playtech is known for Baccarat Squeeze and its Prestige tables with cameras set on the squeeze. Use the provider filter in the lobby to see which studios carry baccarat on the day you play.

What Is in the Baccarat Lobby

Open Live Casino, tap the Baccarat tab and you get every table in one list. The search bar takes a game or provider name, and the Filter button narrows the list by studio.

The grid below works the same way on a small scale. Filter six well-known baccarat games by studio or by how the maths works: Classic odds keeps the standard payouts from the table at the top of this page, Multipliers shows the games with boosted multiplier wins.

Showing all 6 games.

Always 9 Baccarat sits outside both filters on purpose: its Banker head start changes the payouts, so it is neither classic odds nor a multiplier game. Table limits differ from table to table and show in the game before the first round.

The first deposit from C$20 opens a 100% match up to C$500 plus 50 free spins, part of a package worth up to C$5,000 + 150 free spins + 3 bonus rounds. Many players clear it on slots and keep baccarat for cash play.

One Live Round, Step by Step

This is how a single hand at a classic live table plays out, from the lobby to the payout. The cards below are an illustrative hand we use to explain the drawing rules.

  1. Pick a table: in Live Casino, open the Baccarat tab and choose a classic table. The tile shows the dealer, the table limits and the current scoreboard.
  2. Choose a chip: tap a chip value in the rack. We use C$5 for this example, the kind of stake a C$100 balance can carry for a long session.
  3. Bet before the timer ends: the countdown gives you a few seconds. We put C$5 on Banker and C$1 on Tie to show how each is settled.
  4. The deal: betting closes and the dealer deals two cards each. Player shows 3 and 4 for a total of 7. Banker shows a King and a 5; tens and face cards count zero, so Banker has 5.
  5. The third-card rule: Player stands on 6 or 7, so Player stays on 7. When Player stands, Banker draws on 0-5, so Banker takes a third card.
  6. The result: Banker draws a 2 for a total of 7. Seven against seven is a Tie.
  7. Settlement: the C$1 Tie bet pays 8 to 1, so you collect C$9 including the stake. The C$5 Banker bet is a push and returns to your balance untouched.
  8. The roads update: a green Tie mark goes onto the Big Road and the next betting window opens straight away.

Nobody decides anything after the bets are in: the dealer follows fixed rules and the interface shows the totals, which makes baccarat an easy first live game.

Baccarat and the Bonus Terms

Baccarat and bonus money don't mix well, and that is normal across the industry. At Nine Casino slot bets count 100% toward wagering, while games with live dealers count at a small share or not at all, depending on the offer.

While a bonus is active, the terms also cap the maximum bet on live games. Our plan for a baccarat player is simple: either play the deposit as cash without a bonus, or clear the bonus on slots first and move to the tables afterwards. The full bonus guide walks through each deposit stage, and the weekly cashback up to 25% is credited for slots.

Baccarat rounds are fast, so a budget can go quickly at high stakes. The deposit limits page shows how to set daily, weekly or monthly deposit, loss and wager limits in the Gambling Limits tab before you sit down. Baccarat Myths That Cost Players Money

Most baccarat myths come from the scoreboards. The roads look like they hold a pattern, but they are a history of independent hands.

Myth: a Tie is due

A Tie comes about once in 10.5 hands on average, but the shoe has no memory of the last 30 hands. Chasing a "due" Tie at 8:1 means paying a 14.36% edge on every chip.

Myth: the roads predict the next hand

Big Road, Bead Plate and the derived roads are records. Following a streak or fading it gives the same odds as betting at random.

Myth: Martingale beats baccarat

Doubling after each loss turns many small wins into one large loss. Seven Banker losses in a row from C$5 need a C$640 bet, and many tables cap the stake before that.

Myth: Banker is a sure thing

Banker wins more often than Player, 45.86% against 44.62%, but the 5% commission keeps the house ahead. It is the best bet, not a winning one.

Fact: the squeeze changes nothing

Bending and peeling the cards is theatre. The cards were fixed the moment they left the shoe, so a squeeze table pays exactly like any classic table.

Fact: card counting barely helps

Removing cards shifts the Banker and Player odds by tiny amounts in an eight-deck shoe, far too little to overcome the edge on the main bets.

The habit that helps is boring: stay on Banker or Player, skip the Tie at 8:1 and stop at your budget. Curious who checks these figures? See who writes this guide, and head back to the Nine Casino home page for the full review. When you are ready, open the Nine Casino baccarat lobby and try a classic table first.

Baccarat Questions from Canadian Players

Banker. With eight decks and a 5% commission on Banker wins it carries a house edge of about 1.06%, against 1.24% on Player. The Tie looks tempting at 8:1, but that payout gives the house about 14.36%.

The live lobby carries baccarat tables from Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live, the two live studios the casino names. Evolution also supplies RNG First Person titles that play without a dealer.

Live dealer tables have no free mode, because a real dealer runs every round. Some RNG table games show a Play demo button in the lobby, and our demo guide explains how free play works at Nine Casino.

Barely. The casino terms count slot bets in full, while games with live dealers count at a small share or not at all, depending on the offer. The bonus guide covers the 35x wagering and how to plan around it.

There is no App Store download. The site runs in Safari or Chrome on iOS and Android, and the browser can add a Nine Casino icon to your home screen through Add to Home Screen.

C$20 with Interac e-Transfer, cards, e-wallets or crypto. Table minimums are set per table and shown in the game before you place a chip.

No. The Big Road and the other scoreboards record past results only. Each new hand is dealt from the shoe with the same odds, so the roads are a record, not a forecast.
